  • The seller delivers the goods to the buyer by placing them at the disposal of the buyer at the agreed terminal discharged from the arriving vehicle.
  • The seller pays the costs and bears the risk of loss of or damage to the goods until he has delivered them.
  • The seller takes care of formalities for the export of the goods and for their transit through any country before the delivery.

  • The buyer takes the delivery at the named terminal.
  • The buyer pays the costs and bears the risk of loss of or damage to the goods after the delivery.
  • The buyer takes care of import formalities
DPU (named place of delivery) Incoterms 2020

DPU is a term from D-group. The seller pays the costs and bears the risk until the named destination place which is usually close to the buyer.

The place of delivery is according to DPU the place chosen by the seller and the buyer. The seller delivers the goods to the buyer at the place discharged from the arriving means of transport.

The buyer takes the delivery at the place.

The seller pays the costs of transport including costs of discharge from the vehicle. The contracting partner of the carrier is the seller.

The seller is responsible for the export formalities as well as for possible formalities in the country of transit. The import formalities are on the buyer.

The buyer bears the risk after the delivery.

DAT can be used with all modes of transport.
