Forwarding is an entity that is not uniformly regulated. For this reason, common rules of the game have been developed at the initiative of the Nordic freight forwarding associations, General Conditions of the Nordic Association of Freight Forwarders – NSAB.
NSAB 2015 conditions – effective as of January 1st, 2016:
The terms and conditions apply to all assignments handled by members of the Freight Forwarders Association. In Finland, the terms and conditions become part of an individual forwarding agreement if the forwarder has referred to the terms and conditions in its offer or the application of the terms and conditions has been agreed between the parties.
As the terms and conditions are standard terms, it is safest for the parties to the contract to add the NSAB terms as an annex to the forwarding offer or contract in addition to the reference or separate agreement, as it is essential for the counterparty to have access to the standard terms.
